Products description
While their 2011 album 'NEO NOIR' was still a beast of a blues-doom-rock monster, dark, morbid, depressing and destructive, "Loverboy" is a summer album for the first time, which suits the songs well and can be heard clearly.
The great American music history still dusts from every crack when the Swiss combo gets going. Here and there old noise rock leftovers have been left behind and from time to time they continue to step on the super muff. Bluesy bass runs lay the foundation, distorted blues harps and keyboards can be heard. "Loverboy" is more diverse in sound and songwriting, more transparent and Jari Antti continues to play his role as master of ceremonies eerily good, charismatic and sovereign.
The album is surprising, breaks new ground and yet exudes the typical NAVEL character. Still brittle and distant, but there is more light coming into the deep abysses. Hope and warmth are spreading.
