They are back.
After 2015 (“The Band”) and 2016 (“Halos”), the third album appears to be continuous and solid. But the so often invoked devil in the rock business has certainly made some deals here, because the continuity is only an illusion.
Three musical alpha animals. Longtime companions who understand each other musically. In times when newcomers spend months tinkering with demos and have debut albums polished at renowned master studios in New York, HODJA manages with two days of recording and a few extra shifts for mix, master and artwork. Throw another heavyweight on the table and then probably disappear again...

Musically, American styles collide again. After the return of Gamiel Stone aka Claudius Pratt to New York, this seems even more diverse than before. Garage rock, soul, blues, gospel meet hip hop skills and punk rock riffs. Stylistically hardly tangible, but held together by the reduced style, the unique sound, the attitude that oozes from every crack... remote, unique and different. HODJA are back and remain an impressive and captivating band.
