HODJA is New York with a touch of Copenhagen and a pinch of Wismar. A mixture of deep black American music with European esprit. Their voodoo garage blues blends with punk rock, gospel, soul and hip hop influences.
HODJA are an experience live, a charismatic trio with one exception front man. However, their albums go one step further, crossing borders and mixing styles without losing that originality that makes the trio so special on stage.
They only released their third album “THE FLOOD” in the summer of 2018. A versatile, motley work that was rightly celebrated in the media and was awarded the “Album of the Month” sticker several times. In the summer of 2019 their debut was re-released with a polished sound and artwork and now album number four follows. An album. which graphically got its fitting guise again from the artist friend Jenz Koudahl: wild, colorful and full of pictures. And so does the music!
"We Are The Here And Now" continues to be unpolished, raw and explosive, but - as in the title track - also has its quiet moments. A trip, an explosive mixture, a cultural mélange. HODJA is boiled down, black Rock & Roll. Gospel, Soul, Voodoo, Rock, Punk, HipHop... They are the here and now!!
