Products description
The third album since Poncho was born. A band that reinvented themselves 4 years ago with "Poncho Express" at a point where others stagnate or repeat themselves endlessly. Instead, the quintet put down two convincing albums.
In an impressive way, they have won their own place in a drawer that is filled to the brim and likes to be labeled "retro". Favorites come from the golden 70s, you rummage through boxes with krautrock, progressive, fusion, but also space, psychedelic, stoner or blues rock. The coordinates are known, but you can scroll for a long time to find current bands that sound similar.
With "Flying To The Stars" one takes further steps or, to stay with the image, takes off into completely different spheres. Almost unintentionally, a concept album was created.
It's the details that inspire you. The transparency in the sound, powerful and direct at the same time. "Flying To The Stars" grooves, is full of melodies and big moments. Here polyphonic chants, there a barking, rowdy front man. Skilful brass sections and good songs. An album to work through or just indulge in on autopilot. These 43 minutes are nothing for the Spotify generation, nothing for the skipping buttons and 30-second MP3 files can't even come close to providing information about this sound trip.
