Bubonix, who still sound refreshingly different after 13 years and consciously draw their own circles. This included giving solo concerts and playing in squats. That didn't include: being part of the music industry. So "Please Devil, Send Me Golden Hair" is not only musically a gigantic step from the tough old school hardcore of the old days, but also a declaration of war for the band in terms of content under new signs. Is it fun to penetrate the previously unloved music-media jungle, or just a covert guerrilla tactic?
A great album that is as catchy, powerful, melodic and at the same time disturbing as "Please Devil, Send Me Golden Hair". This is what contemporary hardcore should sound like. Once again Kurt Ebelhäuser (Scumbucket and Blackmail) proved to be the perfect producer of the whole thing, who gave the noise, the heaviness and sharpness his own melodies and melancholy.
