Crimson Oak
Willow (2024)
Far away from the big rock circus, the musical mainstream, the big festival stages and international sales charts, almost ten years ago a modest formation from Hesse, Germany
began to transform the energy absorbed from well-aged or current
heroes of various genres of rock music into their own music and to write songs.
Crimson Oak from Fulda – consisting of Aaron Wehner, Dennis Wößner, Emanuel
Lemnitz, Florian and Johannes Labsch – came together to simply pursue their passion
and since their first meeting, they have blended various influences to create a powerful
melange: modern heavy rock – You’re welcome to categorize!
After the first self-titled long player from 2020, the second album “Willow” is now available, which was once again recorded and mixed by the band and further processed by their idol Eroc into a “world-class production” bursting with power, atmosphere and self-confidence.
From the blues and stoner of the debut, the influences on “Willow” have become more diverse. The band remains true to its basic sound – yet new timbres emerge:
Seattle in the 90s has left its influence, Swedish pig rock flashes through here and there. And even the one or other polyphonic vocal arrangement
seem familiar from the great stadium rock anthems of the 80s. The result is not a cheap copy, but a clear homage to the band’s diverse influences.
