Are these times driving art and culture to make angry statements again? At least there are bands who want to say something! Bands who consider content to be just as valuable as music. Bands that take a stand, that are restlessly treading water and are politically active, but who also swing against the tide musically. Bands who are committed to emotion rather than perfection, who bang out singles and songs like there’s no tomorrow… and whoever has terms like Anger in their name and Energy in their album title means business.

ANGER MGMT. the band name says it all. Here, music is used as an outlet to transform anger into something creative. Contemporary, hard, rough with edges and yet catchy. Post-punk, punk, grunge, garage rock… An explosive mixture with a lot of punk rock DNA.
Shimmering post-punk guitars and blasting beats underpin catchy hooklines. Lyrics that are crushing in their honesty and a raw voice reminiscent of the independent bands of the 90s.
Frontman and singer Nik Petronijevic sings a lot about his own experiences with his anxiety disorder, suicidal thoughts and the latent feeling of not belonging. Despite all these dark themes, the album also provides support and hope and is intended to release positive energy, dissolving anger into energy – “ANGER IS ENERGY”!
Nik has suffered from severe anxiety and depression since childhood. He has faced up to this illness and destigmatizes it as a mental health activist on the radio, TV, in interviews, podcasts and on stage. Courageous, self-confident and as a role model for those who are unable to do so and cannot hide or escape the downward spiral.
But they also deal with political and social issues in other ways, criticize and do not blast cheap slogans and catchphrases into the world. The pre-released debut single and the accompanying video “Fake Manhood” dealt with the topic of toxic masculinity in a humorously authentic way, without lecturing or reproachfully ranting. And with this non-album track, the trio has caused quite a stir in Switzerland.
