The Flying Eyes

The Flying Eyes
When the band was founded in 2007, the members were very young: singer William Kelly was 18, his comrades-in-arms Adam Bufano (guitar, organ), Mclean Hewitt (bass) and Elias Schutzman (drums) just 19 years old. The first EP “Bad Blood” came a year later and the EP “Winter” in 2009. Both were then combined to form their debut album, which was followed by “Done So Wrong” in 2011. The debut of the quartet from Baltimore / USA was compared to the DOORS.

Not bad, but there’s a lot more to it than that. The basis is certainly the late 60s and early 70s and yet you can clearly hear a generation of today that pays homage to and preserves this sound. The band has long since found its own sound and the play with quotes is skillful. “Lowlands”, the third album, took another sound turn and became heavier, the guitars even deeper and distortion the magic word.
