Albums

Their first record was released by Loudsprecher in 1999. The debut “Smoke’s A-Blowin’ Black As Coal” was recorded with a broken 16-track tape machine, flea market instruments and a few crates of beer:

“We borrowed the mixing desk from some old hippie from the city park. That’s how the record was made, without putting a mark into it – you can hear it a bit, it’s nice and grungy”.

From buddy thing to one of the best hardcore bands

Two albums and a few destroyed hotel rooms later, SMOKE BLOW switched to Noisolution, where the critically acclaimed record “German Angst” was released in 2003. The band is as massive as the tanker on the cover. The Kiel ruffians have grown from a band of buddies into a great hardcore punk combo. Together with the follow-up album “Dark Angel”, which was released in 2005 with a somewhat darker sound – and Bela B. as a guest, among others – it was the musical highlight of the band, who were certainly one of the best German hardcore bands and released two more albums on PIAS.
