The fifth album is finally here (if we ignore the live album “Festsaal Kreuzberg”)!
Malmende Heavyness under the radar
The new album is another step forward for the band. The tapestry of sound is even more finely woven. More transparent and filigree than ever, but there are always the heavy head-nodding parts that set entire festivals in motion. 8 songs, 43 minutes. A classic album format. A great cover artwork, the meaning of which is barely recognizable and colorfully pretends to be something that it actually isn’t.
“Volllast” – at over 7 minutes, a central song that is representative of the album. Old ROTOR meets newfound lightness here.
“Oktagon” – surprises with its oriental guitar licks, starts the head cinema and takes you to distant regions – or alternatively evokes the romance of Kreuzberg.
The final song, “Weltall Erde Rotor”, shows that this band stands for itself and is in a league of its own, and not just in its title. Here, the slightly floating and heavily dragging parts shake hands and show the fascination and strength of the band.
