The artwork reflects everything that is packaged and advertised. Full of contradictions, it fascinates and attracts attention. Absolute beauty is
destroyed and wildly painted over. Colorful and yet threateningly dark at the same time. Wild, unbridled; aggressive and powerful… Realism vs. art. Pop culture vs. underground.
And that’s what HATHORS are musically too. Contradictions on all levels. The opposite of streamlined. Great melodies and catchy hooklines, but these are
are snotted out and sawn to pieces by guitars. Here, too, absolute beauty is destroyed and wildly overplayed.
It smells of garage, of rock, of original punk and grunge that could have sprung from old Amphetamine Reptile or Subpop albums. An old liaison that is aesthetically and musically impossible to hide, and HATHORS certainly don’t mean the albums and bands that can be seen on H&M shirts today and have become global superstars.
