SLEEP FOREVER – Single (2025)

Slug Boys are a Norwegian-British-Swedish post punk band based in Oslo. Formed in the middle of lockdown and separation,
they have made up for the years without close contact by getting physical throughout the underground scene. Known for their intense energy and raw performances, the band continues to challenge expectations with every release.

Their latest single, “Sleep Forever”, sees the band moving away from their punk foundations
as the track unfolds with brooding melodies, layered instrumentation, and expansive
dynamics. While delving into darker, introspective themes, the song maintains a driving and
grandiose energy from start to finish, drawing inspiration from bands like The War on Drugs,
Neu!, and Fontaines D.C.

Produced by Morten Øby (Death by Unga Bunga, Aktiv Dödshjelp, Blomst) and mastered by
Emily Lazar — renowned for her work on Foo Fighters’ Wasting Light — the single blends
emotional weight with sonic ambition. “Sleep Forever” flows seamlessly, pairing its reflective
undertones with a sound that feels immediate and alive.
“Sleep Forever” follows the driving energy of “For Love”, the emotional weight of “Mother
Mary”, and even the nostalgia of “Slug Boys Love Song”, a 50s-inspired release from
Valentine’s Day that showcased the band’s humor and versatility. With “Sleep Forever”, Slug
Boys continue to refine their sound, demonstrating their ability to explore new textures and
moods while staying true to their identity.

“It’s not about solutions or resolutions,” the band explains. “It’s about sitting with uncertainty
and the weight of those in-between moments where everything feels suspended, heavy, and
unresolved.”
With their latest release, Slug Boys hint at a readiness to transcend the underground scene
of Norway, blending introspection with dynamic energy in their evolving sound.
