Leave It All Behind Sessions
Blues harp, jingle bells and acoustic guitars, after their last festival shows in India even with their first attempts on the sitar. This album, which screams of America, sinks deep into the sounds of the 50s, 60s and 70s. The songwriting has been shaped once again and “On My Mind” or “No Changes” are – regardless of the sound – great moments in the band’s history. But even a song like “Stay Away” floats hypnotically out of the speakers, fits into the band’s usual repertoire and forms the bridge between the albums.
Between the last two albums, after recording the last song “Leave It All Behind” from the album “Done So Wrong”, THE FLYING EYES opened up a new playground for themselves. A collection of country, blues and folk rock inspired songs was created and recorded over an extended period of time. “This is not a new direction but just a different side we’ve explored to escape the deafening fuzz and feedback,” says Elias Schutzmann.
There is American rock history in here. Pure Americana. Small stories and big songs that carry the typical THE FLYING EYES spirit not only through the voice and always show the band in a recognizable way.
