Daily Thompson
This trio somehow embodies the worker mentality from the deep west because they are always on tour. Even when the band has a break they are on the tour bus and it is hardly surprising that they are releasing their sixth studio album this May – the fourth (including the “Live at Freak Valley” album) in just four years on Noisolution!
Their newest record “Chuparosa” was recorded and produced by Tony Reed, for which the three Dortmund natives traveled to APL Studios in picturesque Port Orchard near Seattle.
Tony Reed, who in addition to his activities as a musician (Mos Generator, Stone Axe, Big Scenic Nowhere, etc.) is also active as a producer (including Saint Vitus) and brought his expertise to the table to refine the typical Daily Thompson sound. The results are six new tracks that can hold their own on the international stage.
The setting of Port Orchard was certainly an inspiring backdrop for these recording sessions, not only imbuing the album with the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and honing the band’s signature sound, but also imbuing the band with the spirit of the musical history of the Northwestern United States.
